Defeat the Label’s annual call to action takes place on Wednesday, October 14th, 2026.

Defeat the Label has aligned its Stand4Change Day with International Stop Bullying Day to expand our reach and impact. This initiative encourages schools and organizations to unite students, educators, and parents in the fight against bullying. Bullying takes many forms, leaving victims feeling powerless and uncertain about how to respond. While bystander intervention is crucial for stopping bullying in the moment, educating communities on prevention is even more essential.

Registered schools receive a customized toolkit and video message. Each year millions of students take a stand with Defeat the Label; will you join us?

The Stand4Change Day program is free and available to any school. Our toolkit will be available towards the end of September. If you would like more information, please email jamie@defeatthelabel.org.

TAKE A STAND RIGHT NOW!

Stand4Change Day is Wednesday, October 14th, 2026! In addition to taking part in the activities featured in our toolkit, you can take a virtual stand against bullying with Defeat the Label for Stand4Change.

FOLLOW THESE STEPS

Step 1.

Get the Frame: Take the printable “Why I Stand” frame. Print it out, or use your tablet to do an electronic version.

Step 2.

What’s Your Why?: Write down why being an #Upstander is important to you. Write down why you take a stand against bullying for other people, or why it is important to you that others in your community or peer group take a stand against bullying, or why speaking up when you see someone being treated unfairly or unkindly is important.

Step 3.

Take a Selfie: Once you decide on your #WhyIStand, here comes the fun part! Take a selfie while holding your completed #WhyIStand frame under your chin! We want to see why you are standing. What if you don’t want to show your face? That’s fine too! You can simply take a picture of your sign, or hold up your sign and use it to cover your face.

Step 4.

Share it! Share your #WhyIStand Selfie on Social Media – Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram on October 16th, 2026 and use the Hashtags #Stand4Change and #WhyIStand. Make sure to tag Defeat the Label in your post. If you would rather us post it for you, so that you remain anonymous, that’s cool too! Simply email us at info@defeatthelabel.com or pm us on one of our social media platforms. We will get your picture posted with non-identifying details.

How much does it cost?

Stand4Change is free and open to everyone!

Can home-schooled children participate?

Yes, they can- we even are lucky to count the HSLDA as a partner on the event.

Is there a main event?

Visit www.stand4change.org and register your school to be a participant in Stand4Change Day 2026. We will make sure that you start to receive our weekly newsletter filled with activities that students can do in the classroom with you, or you can use them in your e-learning plans. You will also receive our S4C 2026 Toolkit filled with great activities.

Do you accept donations?

We sure do! visit our page.

When will I receive the toolkit and newsletter?

Sign up at www.stand4change.org and start receiving the newsletter in September, the Toolkit will arrive the last week of September 2026 so you can plan accordingly.

What types of schools can participate?

Any and all!

How long is the assembly?

However long you would like it be.
