The Community Conversation on Bullying is excited to welcome Shyam Thakker. “I was born in Kenya and moved to the USA after high school for my education and career. I have a BS in Allied Health & Behavioral Sciences from Wayne State University and two Masters degrees from Eastern Michigan University, one in Education and the other in Educational Leadership. I have a beautiful daughter who is my inspiration and motivates me to not only be the best father that I can be, but also a better educator. I taught Science for 16 years and am now a Behavior Specialist and Consultant for the Dearborn School District. I was voted as the #1 Educator in North America in 2019 and was nominated for a Presidential Award in 2021 and 2022. I also received a letter of commendation from the White House and was recognized by Governor Whitmer, and two different State Representatives for my excellence in the field of Education. I go around various schools to help with self-care when needed.”
